Inundation, Monsal Dale

Monsal Weir is an iconic local landmark. Standing on the stones at the foot of the weir is one of my favourite places – the sound of the water is hypnotic. For Inundation, Monsal Dale I focussed in on just this section of the fall, to try and capture that “sound”. This was another early piece and the realisation that I could stitch water, when I had never been able to paint it, was something of a eureka moment
