Xanthoria
Friden

Drystone walls, which dominate the Peak District landscape, are a fascination for me. They are another example of man-made art in the environment with each waller having their own unique style and local rocks dictating the colour of the walls in a particular area. Around Friden the limestone has a striking red tinge. This combined with a variety of lichens (including Xanthoria) , imbue the walls with a vibrant array of colours.
